Insect Control
Lawn damage can occur from both surface and sub-surface insects.
Sub-surface damage from insects such as the white grub can cause severe damge alone by feeding on your root system. The damage portion of the lawn generally will dry out and become easy lo lift or separate from the soil due to lack of root support. The addition of moles tunneling in the lawn is a sign of white grub infestation.
Surface damage is caused by insects chewing and extracting moisture from individual blades of grass in your lawn.
Moles feed on insects in your lawn (white grubs) by tunneling. Tunneling also causes major damage by disrupting the lawns root structure. Treating your lawn for white grubs will eliminate the moles food source, this will force the moles to dig/hunt elsewhere for food.
The best time to apply an insecticide is in the spring and late summer/early fall while temperatures are moderate and the insects are active. For best results two applications may be necessary.
